About Our Work
For years, Tier 1 Consulting has partnered with schools to meet them where they are in their math programs. Through collaborations with organizations such as the UCLA Math Project, Illustrative Mathematics, UnBoundEd, Teaching Lab, and others, we bring proven practices and a wide range of tools to help schools move the needle in math instruction.
Our focus: aligning vision, optimizing execution, and supporting teachers and leaders so that math learning becomes stronger across classrooms.
When Our Services Work Best
We see the best results when:
A leader, manager, or coach oversees math instruction regularly.
Leaders and consultants align consistently to ensure quality control.
Time is prioritized to support teacher and/or leader development.
The “what” and “how” of the work are clearly defined.
Good results can also happen when:
Schools need us to report directly to the principal with regular check-ins.
Teachers need support but the problem is not yet fully defined — we can help diagnose and plan.
Short-term support we can provide:
Delegated leadership in math if staff culture is stable.
Student-facing services such as small group instruction (short-term only).
We do not recommend consulting if:
School culture is at a crisis level.
Teachers lack sufficient planning time due to coverage issues.
There is significant pending staff turnover.
Work requested is one-off (e.g., sub plans, single documents, or substitute teaching).
